We were flooded with faces and stories this past week at Story Chicago. It was inspiring and motivating to hear so many stories and see how countless individuals are stepping into their calling and glorifying God through their work.
Our team has spent the past few days pouring over cardboard cards and talking through each handwritten story. We were blown away by the passion and talent of the @StoryChicago group and this was a tough decision!
After lots of conversation, prayer, and discussion with a few of the Resonate team members, our decision was unanimous.
We are awarding the $10,000 ministry branding package to Blackbox International – a non-profit organization committed to the spiritual and physical restoration of boys ages 16 and under who have been trafficked in the sex industry.
Here’s a snippet from Blackbox International’s website:
Blackbox exists to provide the aftercare component for boys rescued from sex trafficking. Initially we are looking at the specific issue of boys that are involved with sex tourism. Blackbox seeks to help these boys find healing from their past, joy in their present, and purpose for their future. They need help emotionally, physically, academically and spiritually. They need to learn what it means to be a Godly man. They need nothing less than Jesus, and the hope, joy and peace that comes from him.
We believe this represents an emerging issue that needs to be on the radar of individuals and ministries and are excited to partner with Blackbox International to bring hope and healing to these boys while raising awareness of this devastating reality. Please visit their website and read more about their mission.
Our team genuinely wishes we could sit down and have coffee with every single author of the cardboard cards. We wish we could award each of you a free custom communications package and walk alongside you as you continue to step into all that God has for you.
