HE > I

When thinking about what your ministry plan, goal and/or strategy is for this year, I challenge you to make one question the epitome of everything you do . . . Is this going to bring fame to my name or Jesus name?

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31

My point?

In everything you do this year, bring more fame, recognition, credit, honor, time and people to Him. The truth is that there will be a day when your event, book, blog and website will be forgotten, but the impact of what was said, written or done will not. I bet the pastor, worship band, greeting team and chair set-up team do not remember what they planned, said or executed the morning I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, but I do.

It’s a New Year, new day, new semester and new budget (maybe). What are you going to do with it? Now I am not saying you have to pick out paint samples while trying to consider what brings more glory to God. What I am saying is HE > I. Always. Just like multiplying something by zero is always zero, when you do something it should always be about Him.

People will forget our name but His name will never be forgotten. I challenge you to let out a sigh of relief and let the pressure go. He is asking for what you have. Not perfection. Give Him all you’ve got and give Him the glory. Make His name famous.

That’s a New Year’s resolution.
